Door to Door Comedy to benefit OLLU
Comedians help local charities and nonprofits gain money to serve community Feb. 9
Door to Door Comedy, a San Antonio-based group of clean stand-up comedians, is helping local organizations benefit from comedy. Its inaugural Comedy For The FUN-d Of It will be aiding Our Lady of the Lake University and several other San Antonio education, health, family and faith-based organizations. The event will take place at TriPoint Grantham Center, 3223 N. St. Mary’s St. on Saturday, Feb. 9. Shows are scheduled for 4 p.m., 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.
“We want multiple reputable organizations to benefit from this comedy show,” said Bob Moher, comedian, founder of Door to Door Comedy and creator of Comedy For The FUN-d Of It. “Having several community groups participate help small to large groups raise funds without expense.”
Participating partners will receive 50 percent of ticket sales designated to them. Partners involved in the event so far include: Acción Texas, Alzheimer’s Association, American Red Cross, Baptist Temple Church, Baptist University of the Américas, Community Resources of South San Antonio, Fiesta Especial, Heidi Search Center, KLRN, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, LINC San Antonio, Our Lady of the Lake University, Reaching Maximum Independence Inc., Salvation Army – Mission Corps, San Antonio Association of Hispanic Journalists, Seton Home, Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Society of Professional Journalists, SpaySA, Titanium Rib Foundation, Viola’s Huge Heart, Wellness 4 Warriors II and YMCA- TriPoint.
Members of the OLLU community wishing to purchase a ticket must designate “OLLU” as the benefactor of their purchase. Fifty percent of this ticket sale will go toward OLLU. Tickets, purchased online here, are $12.
